Tanker Familiarization Course

The course provides to seafarers on oil tankers, chemical tankers and gas carriers the skills required by the STCW Reg. V/1-1 and Table AV/1-1-1, to perform specific duties and responsibilities related to those duties in connection with cargo and cargo equipment, provided that they are not immediately responsible for the loading, discharging, care in transit or handling of cargo.

Requirements: Seaman Book and Base Courses.


Safety in Liquefied Gas Tankers

The course provides the skills to seafarers for liquefied gas tanker cargo operations required by the STCW table AV/1-2-2

Safety in Oil Tankers

The course provides the skills to seafarers for oil tankers required by the STCW table AV/1-1-2. the candidate will have the technical knowledge required to serve on a tanker and be assigned specific duties and responsibilities related to cargo or cargo equipment. The candidate will have gained sufficient knowledge of the practical application of the basic principles and concepts of safe tanker operations in order to carry out these duties.

Safety in Chemical Tankers

The course provides the skills to seafarers for chemical tanker cargo operations required by the STCW table AV/1-1-3.

Inert gas and crude oil washing

Trainees who successfully complete this course shall enable masters, chief mates and other appropriately qualified and experienced personnel, to assume overall charge of a crude oil washing operation. Section A-V/1 para 10 & 12 of STCW '95 and IMO Resolution A.446(XI) Appendix II as amended by Resolution A.497(XII)


Use of Portable Gas Detection Equipment

Personnel who are required to use portable gas detection equipment to determine the presence of potentially harmful atmospheres in the workplace. The personnel in charge of such tasks must have specific technical knowledge in order to check, use, handle, maintain and calibrate the devices. Practical training: The participants have the opportunity to use acquired know-how in practice (using the devices)
